Hello and welcome to what is going to be an amazing school year!  Together we will learn to critically think and respond to the literature through discussion, journal entries, creative projects, and written essays.  Becoming an active learner in the classroom allows students to experience a variety of responses literature and encourages critical thinking and reasoning skills. One of my goals as a teacher is to encourage my students to become life-long learners who will be contributing members of our community.

About Me

I graduated from Arizona State University, Cum Laude, in 2003, and received my Masters degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University in 2007.  I have been teaching for thirteen years now and this is my eleventh year in Gilbert Public Schools.   I am extremely excited to continue to be at Desert Ridge Jr. High for the ninth year!  I enjoy playing golf, gardening, socializing with friends and family, and loving my amazing husband and two beautiful daughters. I feel very strongly that all students can and will learn, therefore I will foster the type of environment in which they are encouraged to do so.  Thank you for allowing me to work with and motivate your child to achieve his or her goals.
