Industrial Technology is an elective course. The length of the 7th grade mini course will be one quarter (9 weeks). The 8th grade course will be one semester.
Within Industrial Technology, students focus on designing projects within the classroom and then manufacture projects in the workshop.
Projects within the 7th grade mini course may include, but are not limited to: bridge building, 3D puzzles, measurement rulers, mousetrap cars, and a unit on career exploration.
Projects within the 8th grade course may include, but are not limited to: measurement rulers, rocket building, CO2 dragsters, birdhouses, custom signs, trebuchets, and a unit on career exploration.
I have been teaching in Gilbert Schools for twenty-one years. This is my second year at Desert Ridge Jr. High. My wife and I have been married for thirteen years and we have three children. My interests include camping, fishing, woodworking, playing music, and chainsaw carving.
